In-Home Speech Therapy for Kids and Teens

Support for communication, connection, and confidence at every stage of your child’s development.

Welcome to Different

A Personalized Speech Therapy Experience Designed Around Your Child

Finding the right speech therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when your child’s needs don’t fit into a one-size-fits-all program. Communication challenges can show up in so many different ways, and what works for one child may not work for another.

At our practice, we provide in-home speech therapy for children and teens ages 1–16 across Los Angeles County and surrounding areas, with support tailored to each child’s developmental level, communication style, and personality.

Our goal is not to make your child sound or act like everyone else.

Our goal is to help them communicate in ways that feel natural, effective, and empowering while building on the strengths they already have.

Insurance accepted.

Why Families Reach Out for Speech Therapy

For many families, communication challenges show up in everyday moments and can make daily life feel harder than it needs to be.

You might be noticing:

  • Limited speech or delayed language development
  • Difficulty expressing needs, wants, or emotions
  • Trouble understanding directions or conversations
  • Frustration that leads to meltdowns or withdrawal
  • Challenges with social communication or interaction
  • Difficulty with pronunciation or being understood by others
  • Struggles with transitions, routines, or changes in expectations

Many parents describe feeling like they are constantly trying to interpret what their child needs or wants, while also managing school, therapies, and everyday life.

You should not have to figure this out on your own.

Speech Therapy That Meets Kids Where They Are

From early childhood through the teen years, communication is at the center of learning, relationships, and independence. For children with autism or developmental disabilities, these skills may develop differently and need more intentional support.

Our therapy focuses on helping children and teens build communication skills they can use in real life, including:

Expressing wants, needs, and emotions

Understanding language and following directions

Using words, gestures, or AAC to communicate effectively

Developing social communication and interaction skills

Improving speech clarity and articulation

Building conversation and turn-taking skills

Increasing confidence in communication across settings

Our Approach

Personalized, Family-Centered, and Rooted in Strength

In-home speech therapy is one of the most effective ways to support communication development in children with autism and developmental differences. Research consistently shows that early and ongoing support can improve language, social skills, and overall quality of life.

Our approach combines evidence-based speech therapy techniques with relationship-centered care that respects each child’s unique way of communicating.

We focus on helping your child build skills such as:

  • Functional communication across environments
  • Speech clarity and expressive language
  • Receptive language and comprehension
  • Social communication and peer interaction
  • Flexibility in communication and problem-solving
  • Confidence using communication tools, including AAC when appropriate
  • Independence in everyday communication

And we support parents by offering guidance in:

  • Understanding your child’s communication style
  • Supporting language development at home
  • Reducing frustration related to communication challenges
  • Creating opportunities for communication throughout daily routines
  • Feeling more confident in how to support your child’s growth

We believe real progress happens when children feel safe, understood, and supported, not rushed or pushed beyond their comfort.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

We are in network with Health Net, DHCS Medical, Molina, Cigna/Evernorth, BlueShield of CA, BlueShield Promise, and Anthem.

If your insurance provider offers coverage for “behavioral health” and your child has a current diagnosis stating “autism spectrum disorder”, your provider normally covers ABA Therapy Services. However, your coverage might have limitations and copay requirements. You can always contact your insurance provider for eligibility or we would be happy to assist.

How long does it take to get started with speech therapy?

Getting started typically involves an initial consultation and, if needed, an evaluation to better understand your child’s communication needs. From there, we create a personalized plan and begin scheduling your in-home sessions as soon as possible.

How often will my child need speech therapy sessions?

The frequency of sessions depends on your child’s individual needs, goals, and current level of support. We’ll make recommendations based on our assessment and adjust over time as your child progresses.

What is my role as a parent in the therapy process?

Parents are an important part of the process. We provide guidance, strategies, and support so you can reinforce communication skills during everyday routines—helping progress carry over beyond sessions.
