Welcome to Different

A Boutique ABA Therapy Experience Designed Around Your Teen

Finding the right support for your teen can feel overwhelming. Many ABA programs are built with younger children in mind; but teenagers have different needs, different struggles, and different goals.

At A Team ABA, we specialize in in-home ABA therapy for teens ages 13–16 in LA County, offering personalized, relationship-driven support designed specifically for adolescents navigating autism.

Our goal isn’t to change who your teen is.

Our goal is to help them build confidence, communication skills, and independence while honoring their personality, interests, and strengths.

Why Families Reach Out for ABA Support

For many families, the teen years can bring new challenges that feel difficult to navigate alone.

You might be noticing:

  • Increased frustration or emotional outbursts

  • Difficulty communicating needs or feelings

  • Struggles with friendships or social cues

  • Challenges with flexibility, routines, or transitions

  • Stress around school expectations and independence

  • Difficulty managing anxiety, overwhelm, or sensory experiences

Many parents describe life feeling like a constant cycle of guessing; trying to figure out what will help their teen succeed while balancing school, family life, and everyday responsibilities.

You shouldn’t have to navigate this alone.

At A Team ABA, we meet families where life actually happens, in your home, in your routines, and within the real challenges your family is facing.

We believe meaningful progress happens when teens feel safe, understood, and supported — not when they feel pressured to perform.

In-Home ABA Therapy Designed for Real Life

All services are provided in your home, allowing therapy to happen in the environments where your teen actually lives and learns.

This allows us to work on skills in real-time situations such as:

  • Family routines
  • Homework and school preparation
  • Social interactions
  • Daily responsibilities
  • Transitions and problem-solving

Because real progress happens when skills are practiced in the moments that matter most.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

We are in network with Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, Carelon, BlueShield, Magellan, HealthNet

If your insurance provider offers coverage for “behavioral health” and your child has a current diagnosis stating “autism spectrum disorder”, your provider normally covers ABA Therapy Services. However, your coverage might have limitations and copay requirements. You can always contact your insurance provider for eligibility or we would be happy to assist.

How long does the process take before the ABA Services begin?

Normally, the process takes approximately 3 months, but can be less, depending on the authorization from your insurance provider and the completion of the assessment by our BCBA.

Do I get to choose the therapist that provides services to my child?

The therapist assigned to your child is selected by our BCBA who completes the assessment, which takes into consideration your child’s specific behavior and treatment goals.

How is the number of hours determined for my child's therapy?

The number of hours allotted to your child’s therapy is dependent on our BCBA’s assessment, which determines the level of your child’s autism spectrum. More hours are apportioned for a low-functioning diagnosis while less will be apportioned for high-functioning.

As a parent, what is my involvement in the therapy process?

A parent or assigned guardian must be present at all times during direct therapy. Additionally, you must participate in mandatory weekly parent training sessions.

Do you provide services on the weekends and holidays?

Yes, depending on your and the therapists availability.

Can you provide services at my child's school?

Normally, schools provide their own therapists. However, a parent can request the school to allow our therapist to provide the services by petitioning the school. If you are interested in having our therapist provide services to your child in his or her school, please speak to your school’s administration for more information about the process.

How does your outing program work?

If you are interested in having our therapist join you for any outings with your child, you must provide advanced notice to the therapist in order for the therapist to request approval from the program supervisor. You are solely responsible for any expenses incurred by the therapist for travel, accommodations, meals, etc.
